What is something that you are holding on to that you know deep down isn’t serving your highest good?
Is there something or someone in your life that serves as comfort or pleasure, but actually goes against your overall well being?
It is very often that we hold onto certain things that no longer serve us, because it brings us a sense of comfort and stability. These “things” can often manifest themselves as unhealthy habits; such as poor dietary practices, lying or stealing, judging before understanding, running away from emotions,… the list goes on! The reason why we hold onto these things is because, at one point or another, we did not feel safe to fully process trauma. It became only natural to hold onto certain coping mechanisms that serve as a sense of control.
If you are reading this right now, this is your permission slip to fully process any lingering fears or suppressed emotions that have been stored in your body.
So… how do we let go? And, how will letting go help us evolve as a soul?
Well, to start, it is important to acknowledge any suppressed emotions that are hindering you from being free. The reason why I say, “hindering you from being free” is because a lot of our traumas can create cycles & habits that keep us from being fully present. For example, if one starts getting uncomfortable in a room full of people, and goes on their phone to help cope with the discomfort, that is a telltale sign that they are not processing an emotion, and instead, running away from it. The same goes for any other habit that relieves you from stress, and brings you a fragile sense of comfort. When we are actively running away from an emotion, that essentially means that we feel powerless and can’t do anything about the situation; hence, there is a lack of freedom.
What emotion do you runaway from? and what habits have you created to protect yourself from feeling that emotion? Identify it. Say it out loud.
Now, I am not saying that scrolling on social media to avoid discomfort is inherently bad, but it is important to be aware of why you are taking such actions. Is it coming from a place of awareness? Or, is it coming from a place of restriction, fight or flight, or unconscious egoic needs?
And trust me, letting go is not an easy task — it’s a process! I mean think of it; you are literally choosing not to act from the unconscious, fear-driven states of mind. Letting go of the habits & cycles that no longer serve your highest good will change every other aspect of your life too!
The biggest changes in our lives happen when we are tired of our own bullshit.
With that being said, I invite you to become aware of that specific pattern that is keeping you stuck, stagnant, and unconscious. Set the intention to fully release it from your system. Request of the Universe, God, Source, Love, Consciousness, the Divine (whatever you believe created this moment): “Please release me of ____ so that I may resolve this karma and evolve as a Soul.” Once the intention is put into place, conscious action is necessary. So, if that means putting your phone down when you are uncomfortable, do it. Once conscious intention and action is set in place, everything else falls into place
~ When we choose to identify & face the things that do not serve our highest good, we begin to heal. ~
How does letting go of certain behaviors evolve your soul? Because you are no longer seeking things outside of you to give you a fragile sense of safety. Whenever we seek anything from a place of disempowerment, we train our minds & bodies to only feel safe and comfortable with the external habits that bring us further apart from our true essence.
In conclusion: Letting go is not easy, but it is very worthwhile. When we choose to let go of the unhealthy aspects of our life, we evolve exponentially and create more space in our lives to live in harmony with the Truth of our souls.
So if you have yet to get this wake up call, this is it!
